How Long Does a Pest Control Treatment Last?

If you’re worried about pests in your home, this is understandable. The critters which infest many Australian properties can do a lot of damage, to health and bank balances.

If you’ve never had a pest control treatment, it’s best to talk to the experts early. Regular inspections and procedures really keep things under control, and don’t take long.

As experts in pest control Central Coast homeowners and businesses come to, we work quickly and effectively, giving maximum protection.

Treatment Timescales

When it comes to pest control, no two situations are the same. There are a number of pests common to Australian homes, but infestations differ. Certain areas are more prone to particular pests, for example.

Also, the age and layout of buildings determines how inspections and treatments proceed. Finding evidence of some pests is harder than for others.

Pest control treatments get rid of creatures which do the damage, but their eggs are another problem. Fumigation and other treatments don’t affect eggs, so a second inspection and possible treatment may be necessary.

Depending on what the problem is, and how bad it is, revisiting the site may be advisable after a couple of weeks. At the other end of the scale, a yearly inspection is often enough.

Treatment against ants and cockroaches eliminates the problem completely, but it wears off after a while. If these pests are a persistent problem, a treatment every two months is usually recommended. As the sites of the problem are known, the treatment work should only last about 20-30 minutes.

Bigger Issues

Sometimes, the pest control Central Coast homes and businesses need requires a bit more work. Mice and rats, for example, require a rang of resources and strategies to eliminate. This includes baiting, trapping and the use of powder to track their movements.

Finding where these creatures have nests in a property requires patience. Once the pests themselves are eliminated, the reason they come in the first place has to be addressed. This means a ready supply of food, which could be located in many places.

Dangerous spiders such as funnel webs are a less common pest. If these creatures do find a home in your property, however, they often return. Rain and strong heat drive the males indoors, in search of a mate. The male is even more poisonous than the female, and must be dealt with as soon as possible. It’s a good idea to have treatments repeated seasonally. Again, the actual work itself takes about half an hour.
